How player and team needs are compared.

Looking for a team

Created by a parent or a player aged 16 or over. It describes the age or age group, location and kind of football needed.

Compatible football details

Age, football details and location supplied in each listing.

Looking for players

Created by a coach for a team. It describes the team, age group, location and players needed.

When the supplied details are compatible, Ballrz presents the result as a match. Club pages provide the club and team context around each recruitment need.

Set up a search in four steps.

1. Choose a role

A parent looks for football for a child. A player aged 16 or over manages their own search. A coach recruits for a team. A club official manages club information and access.

Start with the role that matches what you need today. You can add another role later.

2. Add football details

Ballrz compares age or age group, location and the relevant football categories.

  • Season and age group
  • Postcode area
  • Youth or adult football
  • Boys', girls', men's or women's football
  • Grassroots club, school football, private academy or development centre

3. Start nearby

You do not choose a distance during sign up. Matching searches start within 30 miles, and you can change the distance on the matching board. When you publish a looking for a team listing, you choose how far away coaches can discover it.

4. Add useful context

Position and current playing level provide extra context. Playing level is supplied by the user and is not an assessment by Ballrz.

Publish the need on a matching board.

Parents and players can create a looking for a team listing. Coaches can create a looking for players listing for a team. Compatible users on the other matching board can discover the need while it is available there.

Ballrz works alongside the groups and channels that already help grassroots football.

A match shows compatible details.

Ballrz has not assessed coaching quality, team culture, playing time, cost, safeguarding arrangements or whether someone will enjoy the environment.

The player or family and the team make the final decision.

Club search and matching answer different questions.

Search for nearby clubs.

Use the directory when you want to see which clubs exist near a postcode or find a club by name.

Compare player and team needs.

Use matching when you want Ballrz to compare a player or team need against compatible published listings.

A nearby club is not automatically a recruiting opportunity. It may not run the age group, may not be recruiting and may not suit the football context. The directory starts the search; matching focuses on structured player and team needs.

Contact for players under 16 is managed by a parent or guardian.

A parent or guardian manages contact for a player under 16. These players do not need public profiles or public contact details for a football need to be discoverable. A listing can show limited football details and a coarse area.

Players aged 16 and 17 can manage their own Ballrz account, but remain children for safeguarding purposes. Their real name and personal contact details are not shown in public contexts.

Ballrz is not an open messaging service and does not replace a club's safeguarding process or the checks a family should make before attending.

Frequently asked questions

Does a match mean the team or player is right for me?

No. It means the details available to Ballrz are compatible. Check the coach, team, playing environment, commitment, costs, location and safeguarding arrangements before deciding.

Does Ballrz assess playing level?

No. Playing level is supplied by the user as further football context. It is not an assessment by Ballrz.

Are coaches and clubs verified?

No. Ballrz does not verify every coach, team, club fact or activity. Access requests for clubs already managed on Ballrz are reviewed by an existing club official. This does not replace the usual checks on a coach, team, club or activity.

Can a child have a public profile?

For a player under 16, a parent or guardian manages the football need without a public child profile or public contact details. Players aged 16 and 17 can manage their own account with youth privacy controls. A public listing can still show limited football details and a coarse area.
