Make a practical local shortlist

Confirm current places before arranging a visit
For a current team place, the directory’s Recruiting players filter can help identify organisations with a recruitment notice. A notice is a starting point, not confirmation of a place in your child’s age group.

Compare coaching, costs and commitment
Before attending, ask for the practical details and compare them with your child’s needs. The closest club is not always the most suitable option.
- Who runs the session, what is the group like and are beginners welcome?
- Where and when are training and matches, and what attendance is expected?
- What are the session or membership fees, kit costs and other regular expenses?
- What should your child bring, and can you arrange an introductory session?
- Who is the welfare contact, how do parents communicate and can parents stay?
